Greg Luttman

Born and Raised in New Jersey, Greg grew up on the Jersey Shore (Exit 67 off the GSP) near a barrier island called Long Beach Island. Spent most of his summers growing up on or near that beautiful sand bar of an island and it’s where his first real job was; working through High School and College at a small marina in Harvey Cedars called The Boat Yard for some truly inspiring people. This is where his love for the ocean began.

He spent some time going to school in Jersey City, NJ. Upon graduating he was commissioned as an Infantry Officer and after completing training was assigned to 2-27IN, 25th ID at Schofield Barracks, HI. Surfing really took hold after his deployment to OIF- V, where upon he realized that surfing and the ocean provided so much in the way of remedial belongings. The soulfulness of such an act is so deep one can hardly limit it so as to simply entitle it a “sport”. Surfing is not a sport as we know it conventionally, it’s more like what the philosopher called “an activity of the soul” one that which, in accordance with virtue, leads to the ultimate good, namely, HAPPINESS. It is through this activity in the pursuit of happiness that we find ways to assist in others’ attempt to obtain this as well, hence the Wounded Warriors program, and Board Donations and Greg’s involvement in them.

Greg is out now and living and working in the Northeast, enjoys surfing in the cold olive-brown water on the Jersey Shore, and spends most of his time conjuring up images of the North Shore and dreaming of the future trip back to Perelandra. Shoot me an email if anyone wants to get together for a session in NJ or NY.
